Perfection’s Gift, Part One

The Writer sits for a moment. She takes a deep breath.

There is noise everywhere.

The electrician drills into the wall. The dogs are upstairs clawing at a shut door.

The Yogi works on her own gig alongside the Writer. They giggle every once in a while.

Between giggles, the Writer finds her voice in chaos.

Still, a nagging voice gnaws at the Writer's growing confidence.

Anxiety churns in the Writer's tummy.

She pauses to thank her Perfection, an emotional part of her emosystem—her emotional ecosystem. But then she communicates internally to Perfection that her concern creates brutal conflict and tension within the Writer.

Perfection's emotional takeover overwhelms other elements and parts of the Writer's emosystem, mainly Muse, Rhyme, and Rhythm.

And when her pen stops, the Writer doubts her capability.

Is she worth it?

Is she strong enough?

Does she deserve to be living her dream?

These questions have lingered unanswered, always out of reach for what seems like forever.

But at that moment, amidst dog whines, power tools, and giggling alongside her best friend, the Writer answers the questions without hesitation.

She is totally worth it.

She is totally strong enough.

And, duh, the Writer deserves to live her dream.

She totally deserves to live her dream.

We all do.

The World of Words is quite Magic, the Writer whispers.
